Moose
The moose is the largest and the probably the most mythical wild animal of the Nordic forests. Sweden's moose population remains stable at around 350,000 animals - the most dense moose population in the world.

Reindeer
There are around 260,000 reindeer roaming the North of Sweden where they live in the forests and on the mountains. They feed on mushroom, lichen, grass and herbs. Reindeer meat is very lean and rich in minerals.

Wild boar
Sweden has a very healthy and growing wild boar population. The Swedish forests allow for a highly diversified dinner plate for this selective omnivore. They are further spared from the African Swine Flu that has affected most the rest of the world's wild boar, since the disease doesn't exist in Sweden.

Fallow Deer
The fallow deer can mostly be seen in southern and central Sweden where they roam in both pine and mixed forests. It feeds mostly on grass and leaves in the summer and heather, lingonberry and blueberry plants, och acorns during fall and winter.
