Difficulty: Very easy
Ingredients (2-4 servings)
- 500 g reindeer chafing, defrosted
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 0.5 tsp salt
- 0.5 tsp black pepper
- 1 yellow onion, chopped
- 2-3 dl cream
- 4 juniper berries, lightly crushed
Preparation
Heat a frying pan and fry the meat in turns in butter and oil. Salt and pepper, put the meat aside on a platter.
Fry the onion in butter until caramelised lightly. Put the meat back and pour in the cream, juniper and season with salt and pepper. Let simmer for 5-10 minutes until you have a thick sauce.
Serve with boiled or pressed potatoes and lingonberry jam (optional).
Note: If you do not have ready chafing, then cut thin small slices of meat with a sharp knife. It is easier to cut from a frozen steak that has been in room temperature for about 2-3 hours.
