Fallow Deer

The fallow deer is most populous in southern Sweden. They normally feed on grass and leaves in the summer and in the autumn and winter on heather, lingonberry & blueberry plants, and acorn.
They can vary a bit in appearance, but in general you can in the summer recognise them on their red-brownish fur, with white dots and black back line and white under belly. A majestic stag can weight up to 100 kg.
The meat is very tender with a delicious taste and has a slightly less "wild" taste compared to for example moose meat. Fallow deer fillet is one of our most popular products.
