About the product
Fallow deer meat has a slightly milder gamey flavor compared to, for example, elk and is a very tender meat. The knuckle is a tender and flavorful cut that goes well with many dishes. For example, as a roast in a pan, stew or in the oven.
We think this fine product from our Swedish forests is best prepared simply in a pan to the desired degree of doneness, marinated with a little oil, herbs, garlic and spices. And then served with a hearty game sauce or red wine sauce and oven-roasted root vegetables.
The meat is lean, high in protein and rich in iron – a healthy alternative to domesticated meats such as beef or pork.
