About the product
Mountain trout is one of northern Sweden’s most popular fish, both to catch and to eat. It has succulent flesh and a mild, rich flavour that suits an everyday dinner as well as a special occasion.
It lives in cold lakes and streams, feeding on insects, small crustaceans and smaller fish, among other things. Its diet changes with the season and habitat and contributes to its natural flavour.
Roast the trout whole with butter, lemon and dill, gently pan-fry it or cook it on the grill. It pairs well with boiled potatoes and a cold herb sauce, though a little salt is often all it needs.
