About the product

Japanese A5 Wagyu ribeye from Kagoshima offers a truly exceptional beef experience. Its abundant marbling creates an exceptionally juicy ribeye with a buttery texture, deep umami and a subtle sweetness. As the beef meets the hot pan, the fat melts within the muscle, making every bite tender, rich and intensely flavourful.

This is the original – authentic Japanese Wagyu from cattle born and raised in Japan. Our ribeye comes from Kagoshima in southern Japan and the Japanese Black breed, also known as Kuroge Washu, renowned for its ability to develop outstanding marbling. Experience Wagyu from its homeland, where the traditions and expertise behind this exclusive beef originated.

Kagoshima – Japanese Wagyu with a rich tradition

Located on the island of Kyushu, Kagoshima is one of Japan’s leading regions for raising Japanese Black Wagyu. The region is renowned for its premium beef, with fine marbling and meticulous attention to meat quality at the heart of its reputation.

Our Wagyu ribeye from Kagoshima combines the Japanese breed’s characteristic tenderness with the rich flavour of ribeye. It is a cut for anyone who wants to discover why Japanese Wagyu ranks among the world’s most exclusive beef.

A5 – the highest Japanese grade

This ribeye is graded A5, the highest combination in the Japanese beef grading system.

  • A indicates the highest grade for the carcass’s estimated meat yield.

  • 5 indicates the highest meat quality grade, assessed through marbling, meat colour, firmness and texture, and fat colour and quality.

Marbling is also assessed using the BMS scale, which runs from 1 to 12. Meat quality grade 5 requires marbling within BMS 8–12, together with the highest grade in the other quality criteria.

A5 therefore means more than abundant marbling – it is a comprehensive assessment of meat quality.

Flavour and experience

Japanese A5 Wagyu ribeye delivers a rich, buttery flavour and an almost melt-in-the-mouth texture. The finely distributed fat brings juiciness and depth of flavour to every bite, while the ribeye’s natural character contributes a full, rich beef flavour.

Its remarkable richness makes even a smaller portion a memorable experience. Serve it sliced as an exclusive part of a meal, or make it the centrepiece of a Japanese Wagyu tasting.

Keep the cooking simple

Let the quality of the beef speak for itself. Pat the surface dry and sear in a hot pan until a beautiful crust develops. The generously marbled beef releases its own fat, so you will usually need little or no additional cooking fat.

Adjust the cooking time to the thickness of the cut and allow the beef to rest briefly before slicing. Finish with a little flaky sea salt and serve with simple accompaniments that let the Japanese Wagyu flavour shine.

The beef is shipped vacuum-packed and frozen.

Wagyu is considered one of the most exclusive types of beef in the world – and there are several reasons for this.

Unique genetics

Wagyu comes from the Japanese cattle breed Japanese Black. Our beef comes from 100% Full Blood Wagyu from the classic Tajima bloodline, the same genetic line behind the famous Kobe beef from Hyōgo in Japan. These genetics give the meat its unique ability to develop extreme intramuscular marbling.

Slow raising

Wagyu cattle grow more slowly than conventional beef cattle. The animals are raised over a longer period with carefully controlled feeding in order to develop the characteristic fat marbling. This slow growth contributes to tenderness, depth of flavour and juiciness.

Limited supply

True Full Blood Wagyu is very rare outside Japan. Maintaining a completely pure Japanese bloodline requires strict breeding practices and careful genetic control, which makes production limited.

Exceptional marbling and flavour

The fine intramuscular fat melts at low temperatures when the meat is cooked. The result is a buttery texture, intense umami flavour and a tenderness that almost melts in your mouth.

High quality game meat

Our concept is to offer the best game meat available, directly to you, the end customer. We make sure you can buy the cuts that are otherwise only sold to wholesalers and fine restaurants.

100% natural

We would argue that there is no meat in the world that is as gentle on animals, requires so little of the earth's resources to produce, and has such a low carbon footprint as Swedish game meat.

A healthy alternative

Game meat is naturally lean and nutritious because the animals live a free range life and graze naturally. This makes for a cleaner and healthier meat choice.
