Mouflon sheep is a welcome new addition to Swedish Wild. It's quite difficult to get hold of this flavourful wild sheep as the number of wild mouflon in Sweden is small.

If you want new inspiration in the kitchen in general and on delicious game dishes specifically, the mouflon top round is a hot tip. The mouflon meat is full of delicious flavour that brings to mind game such as deer or roe deer rather than domesticated sheep and lamb. Exciting and unexpected - and a guaranteed flavour experience. Mouflon top round is low on fat.

The top round is best cooked as a roast, starting with salt and pepper and then searing it over high heat. Then let it finish cooking in the oven. You can also fry it in thin slices in the frying pan.

            Unfortunately the meat was tough and hard. In addition, several tendons. We cooked it so the temperature was 56 degrees when we served. A clear disappointment compared to the delicious deer and reindeer meat we bought from you. We were looking forward to a mufflon dinner with great excitement, but unfortunately it was a big flop. No more mufflon for us.
